Question Description

I don’t know how to handle this question and need guidance.

1- Greatest Common Factor

What is the greatest common factor (GCF)? How do you know when you have found the greatest one?  Give an example of when you might need to find the GCF.

 

2- Factoring Trinomials

Explain how to factor the following trinomials forms:

  x2 + bx + c
and 
ax
2 + bx + c.

 Are there multiple ways to factor these? Explain your answer in both a narrative (i.e. in English) and with mathematical notation.

 

 

Special PolynomialsHow do you factor the difference of two squares? How do you factor a perfect square trinomial?  How do you factor the sum and difference of two cubes? Which of these three makes the most sense to you? Explain why.
