- Introduction Once finishing the high school level, the only thing that goes around in our head is the possibility of getting into the best schools or colleges for university studies. Studying abroad is one of the greatest experiences a person could face. It might be considered as a priority to some, and a real challenge to others. Like the anything else, it has many advantages and many disadvantages too. Do you know that based on the statistics obtained from the Student and Exchange Visitor Program, 1.13 million international students were registered at approximately 8,979 United States schools in 2015 (SEVP)? Many people tend to choose to study abroad for many reasons, such as, to master foreign languages, experience different methods and styles of learning, making friends from different cultures or countries, and improving self-confidence and becoming more independent. Studying abroad could actually expand the perceptions of the students and increase their knowledge. It could also help the students to identify the studying system in other communities and to transfer the benefits earned to help the elevation of their nation. In this essay, I will be discussing the purposes of studying in the University of Evansville. There are two reasons why I have chosen University of Evansville to study in, one is because of the possibility of choosing majors that do not exist in Saudi Arabia, the other is to get a degree from one of the prestigious and recognized universities in the world. - Body 1 First, the main cause of leaving home and coming to the United States to seek education in University of Evansville is the huge number of different majors provided. In other words, having the opportunity to pick what I will be studying in order to get a life time job, is very crucial when it comes to my future. In fact, enrolling to this university has helped me choose the right decision in picking the major I had no idea I would be interesting in! After finally choosing the right major, marketing was my decision. On the positive side, I have enrolled to the business department because of how enormous I found it when I researched online regarding the majors. The business department in the University of Evansville, as known as, Schroeder School of Business, is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), and is considered to be one of the world’s top five business schools and also one of the nation’s best small private business schools (UE Web) For that reason, considering the high reputation and the variety of majors provided by this university has truly encouraged my decision in choosing it. - Body 2 References SEVP Releases 2015 International Student Data, Launches Interactive Mapping Tool."
