Sustainbility inquiry project This inquiry project will provide an opportunity to investigate and analyze a current sustainable development related to your discipline or career path. choosing a specific context such as business, industry, urban planning, agriculture, computer science, or another field, you will investigate a current environmental initiative. You may also choose an environmental decision or project analyzing it from the perspective of multiple stakeholders. This may involve examining the discourse found in corporation independent, or social media as well as public policy, and/or scientific documents. Sustainbility + your major. Connect the need for preserving precious resources with your field of study (Business). In what ways does your discipline and the conversation, research, and current issues intersect with environmental issues, awareness, and sustainability? What are leaders in your field investigating and connecting in terms of lowering carbon and environmental awareness? Are threre conections and possibility solutions? Ask some “why”? questions. What does this topic make you want to say? Like the above, this essay will be thesis-driven and use at least five sources two of which are scholarly. For example. A pre-med major aiming to be a physician’s assistant looked into the large amount of hospital waste produced daily at hospitals in the US. researching this problem, he wrote about medical incineration practices in the US, finding that there are ways to decrease mercury emissions in incinerators if certain equipment is used. My major is business and I chose to write about how middle eastern countries are trying to reduce carbon dioxide emission. What do governments and business do to reduce CO2. I have attached 3 articles related to this topic: Few notes:    My teacher told me that my essay isn’t well enough she doesn’t get my thesis. And she said my paper looks like a report – just giving information. What will you say about each gulf state laws + action? She wants to see more from this paper than a mere report of what each country is doing. What can you analyze? Think: what does each country’s action make you want to say? Is each country’s solution suitable to its own condition?
How Some Gulf countries are Managing Carbon Emission As a Business major student, who is conscious about environmental degradation that is as a result of entrepreneurial activities, I would like to put the measures that both governments and businesses have put in place to ensure that carbon emission is reduced. Most of the gulf countries practice Carbon Capture and Storage as the most efficient method of reducing carbon emissions. The governments have ensured the capture regulations are enacted. On the other hand, the owners of the industries responsible for the excessive production of carbon comply with the law to ensure that carbon is captured and stored (Tsai I-Tsung et al 7733). The Government and the entrepreneurs in the gulf countries are actions on laws that ensure proper carbon management by ensuring that the industries that emit a lot of carbon work in association with other companies that can put the carbon to better use. Both private and government-owned steel and aluminum companies work with the carbon receiving companies to reduce emission. Emirates Aluminum Industry, owned by the Abu Dhabi government, is working hand in hand with Masdar in developing PostCombustion carbon that can be compressed and put to use in oil companies (Tsai I-Tsung et al 7735). This initiative is evidence that the two parties, business practitioners and government are determined to protect the environment from the excessive emission. Qatar is also aggressively pushing for carbon reduction while maintaining the large gas production industries. Carbon production has been turned into an economic venture. The Abu Dhabi government supported Masdar project $15 billion for the first face of the project. The project is aimed at turning the emitted carbon into usable products. This industry has offered employment to many residents and greatly contributed to the economy of Abu Dhabi. Bio-fuels, renewable energy and better infrastructure have been achieved so far (Burnham par. 7) Reference: Tsai, I- Tsung, Meshayel Al Ali, Sanaa El Waddi, and Othman Adnan Zarzour. “ Carbon Capture Regulation for The Steel and Aluminium Industries in the UAE: An Emperical Analysis.” Energy Procedia 37(2013): 7732-7740.
