Question description

I have two things that need to get done. I need my paper finished and a short project. I need this done by tonight around 10.00pm. No later than 10. If you can't complete the work do NOT accept the bid. I have done majority of the work but need you to finish it.

Running head: SWAGGER DISTRIBUTION Assignment 3-2: IT Swagger Distribution Austin Garcia IT-200: Fundamentals of Technology Southern New Hampshire 11/9/16 1 SWAGGER DISTRIBUTION 2 HCI Human Computer Interaction is how people interact with computers. There are a ton of software/devices out there for HCI to make the experience safe, usable, efficient, simple and enjoyable experience for the user. I will be discussing two popular software used by people today which are Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Word. Microsoft Visio is a diagramming program for Microsoft Windows that uses vector graphics to create diagrams. Many businesses and schools use this for organizational chart shapes. Microsoft Visio can be used to create simple or complex diagrams. It offers a vast amount of built-in shapes, objects, and stencils. You can even make your own shapes. In addition, Microsoft Visio includes a ton of templates to get started with if you have not used the program before. Microsoft Visio is used mainly by enterprises because businesses can utilize process flowcharts, software diagrams, workflow diagrams, network diagrams, or database models to their advantage to stay organized and professional. Microsoft Visio is meant to make diagramming as easy as possible for the user which is why it includes templates, built in shapes, and stencils. Microsoft word is a graphical word processing program which users can use to type with. Microsoft Word allows the users to type and save documents. Like Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Word includes helpful tools such as spell and grammar, speech recognition, web pages, graphs, tables, synonyms, and templates. This allows the user to save time so they will not have to reread the text and look for grammar errors. In addition, it speeds up the writing process because of the built-in tools such as the search engine, thesaurus, synonym and templates. College students and businesses are the primary users of Microsoft Word. Students can take advantage of the spell and grammar check. Most colleges require students to write their paper in a certain format such SWAGGER DISTRIBUTION 3 as APA or MLA. Students who use Microsoft Word can utilize the templates that are already in APA and MLA format which makes it easier and saves time for the user. HCI is extremely important because it allows the user to utilize the tools and software to their advantage to get work done with simplicity and ease. Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Word are two different programs used for different things. As explained earlier, users can utilize the tools provided by the programs to their advantage to make it easier for the user. HCI philosophy is to provide safe, usable, and efficient systems for everyone. Any program, software, and device is properly designed with HCI technique centered for users which will be accessible to those with disabilities. The HCI for Microsoft Word and Visio are similar in a lot of ways. Although Microsoft Word and Visio are completely different programs used for different things they share commonalities. For example, they have the same interface at the top of the screen like file, home, insert, design, and layout. Word and Visio offer intuitive built-in templates, layouts and customizable themes. Word and Visio allow the user to save, export, and print the document. Microsoft Word and Visio are intuitive and are relatively easy to use. However, by incorporating tutorials within the program will help the average user who is new to Word and Visio. For example, they should add a tab at the top of each program by the file and home tab. These tutorials should will be short clips teaching the user how to navigate around the program. Word and Visio can also add tutorials on how to do certain tasks such as creating a complex SWAGGER DISTRIBUTION diagram or showing the user how to make a APA template. This could help users understand how to use the program thoroughly without an instructor or class. 4 SWAGGER DISTRIBUTION 5 Visio Tutorial Visio is a simple diagramming program that is easy to use. There are some neat features on Visio that allow a user to create complex diagrams easily. One of the features include premade templates. When the program is opened, the users are faced with premade templates which they can choose from. Visio offers numerous templates such as basic diagram, blank drawing, basic flowchart, organization flowchart, and detailed network diagram to name a few. All of you have to do is click on a template you want to use and it will automatically form the diagram of your choosing. After that you can edit the diagram, change it, and even add text within the boxes. I have attached an image below of what it looks like when you first open the program. SWAGGER DISTRIBUTION Another key feature Visio offers is the ability so save your document, insert, design, view and review. Below, I have attached an image where you can either hit file and save your document. These are the key features in the program that allows the user to customize their work and save their document. 6 SWAGGER DISTRIBUTION 7 Some other key features in Microsoft Word include. Feature 1. Visio offers a quick access toolbar that allows the user to do or undue whatever they did. For example, if the user hits a button by accident and they want to get rid of it all they must do is click the undue button. On the left of the undue button, there is a disk button which allows the users to save their work. It is essentially a quick save button when the user does not want to lose his/her work. Feature 2. Visio offers a dialog box launcher. This allows the user to see more information on each tab. For example, if the user wants to change the font, paragraph or styles all they must do is click the arrow on the bottom right corner. This launches a box which shows additional features. SWAGGER DISTRIBUTION Feature 3 Click the to change command is another feature Visio offers. It allows the user to change what they want to do. For example, there is a home, insert, page layout, references, mailings, review and view. These tabs allow the user to go to the home page where there are basic features such as font, paragraph, and styles. Feature 4 Visio also has a title bar feature. This is located at the top of the program. Whatever the user names the document will be shown in the title bar. For example, if you save your document as English essay, it will appear at the top of the program. This can be helpful to users if you have more than one document open at a time. Feature 5 Visio has a view toolbar feature that allows the user to see additional tools when they are working on a project. This is located on the bottom right of the program. 8 SWAGGER DISTRIBUTION 9 Databases Swagger Distribution stores information on the databases of the clothing manufacturers, clothing products, and the retail stores. This enables Swagger Distribution to keep track of the manufacturers, products, and stores. Table 1: Retail Stores Field 1: Retail Store Name: This is the Store name of the company. Field 2: Street Address: This is the location of the store. Field 3: City: This is the stores city location. Field 4: State: This is the state where the store is in. Field 5: Zip Code: This is the stores area code. Field 6: Clothing Item: This is the product. Table 2: Clothing Manufacturers Field 1: Manufacturer Name: This is where the products are made. Field 2: Street Address: This is the location of the Manufacturer. Field 3: City: This is the Manufacturer city location. Field 4: State: This is Manufacturer state location. IT 200 Milestone One Guidelines and Rubric Scenario: A new owner has purchased Swagger Distribution Company, a company that distributes clothing and apparel. She does not have experience with ITrelated problem solving, so she is contracting you, as an IT consultant, to help. For Milestone One, you will submit a document summarizing the human-computer interface (HCI) and information management/database (IMD) using appropriate IT terminology. Take a moment to read the Final Project Guidelines and Rubric to see how the following information applies to the final project, and then proceed to do the following for Milestone One: Human-Computer Interface (HCI): On a daily basis, Swagger Distribution’s employees log in to the company’s network and utilize many different types of software and the internet. They use Microsoft Word and Microsoft Visio daily. For this area of the assignment:  Summarize the human-computer interface (HCI) of these two software applications. Change the data type of the “Retail Price” field from “text” to “Currency.” Now reopen the table “Clothing Products” in design view and notice the change.
