Introduction.
The role of a court is to give an interpretation then apply the law after an enactment by
the legislature. This application of the law by the courts is done when controversies are presented
to them for justice concerns. Majorly, the court system protects on discriminations of minorities
by majorities by protecting their rights and mandates of where they are to practice them. They
provide general resolutions to disputes between governments, corporations and people in
general.
In the criminal justice system, there's vast differences and similarities between the
treatment of an adult and a juvenile. This is the reason why there exists both the juvenile and
adult courts. The separation of the two has been there for a very long time with the first juvenile
court in the US established in 1899 in Chicago. Since then, the general criminal courts and
justice system has made significant modifications and legislative changes over the years to
improve on their efficient operability.
