Human resource planning process has the following steps; one of them is assessing the human
resources. This begins with environmental analysis. This is both the internal and the external
environment under which the current human resources are in. this makes it easier for the
manager to find out the internal strength and weakness of the organization.
We also have demand forecasting as another step as well. This is the process through which the
human resource manager determines the future qualitative and quantitative needs of human
resource .The current human resource can be used to determine the future human resource
situation. A year by year analysis is necessary for an organization (Legge, 1995).
The third one we can have supplies forecast. It involves the estimation of supply of human
resource given the information about the current resources and the availability in the future.
We also have match demand and supply. This involves bringing the supply and the demand to
equilibrium to solve the problem of overstaffing and shortage. The organization has to hire more
personnel at times of shortage and reduce personnel at times of overstaffing.
Action planning is also applicable step. It's the last process in human planning. It's concerned
with solving the problem of overstaffing and understaffing.
In recruitment process include, identifying vacancy. This provides opportunities for the manager
to align staff skills to set goals and objectives and growth and d evelopment of the organization.
