Abstract
The number of school dropouts continues to drop in Michigan in the past five years. The number
of dropouts is not even in Pennsylvania. The paper will discuss the rate of high school kids’
dropouts. The two states include Michigan and Pennsylvania in a comparative study. The results
will be presented in the bar graph, line graph, and pie chart to enable easy comparison.
The findings over a period have been discussed to get reasons for continued drop in some
dropout cases. An analysis of the difference and similarity between the two states has been
considered. Three articles containing information on the study are also summarized in this paper.
The government efforts and plans to reduce the number of high school dropouts seem to bear
fruits overtime. There is the need for cooperation and coordination between local and national
government in controlling problems facing education sector.

Cases of School Dropouts between Michigan and Pennsylvania
The event dropout rate is an estimation of both public and private high school basing on the data
from CPS and research conducted in two cities. These are students who joined the first year but
did not afford to earn a school diploma and other alternative credentials for instance GED. The
study is considering the number of youths between 15 through 24 years of age both in Michigan
and Pennsylvania.
The data collected is four years from 2011 to 205....
