preparedness program, procedures and a team which looks into this sector to ensure that all the
necessary precaution measures are put in place and that they have been tested and they work.

There are many things that can happen unexpectedly in a city and some of them pose a

serious risk to the residents, properties and the town in general. A risk analysis is therefore done
to come up with possible emergencies that can occur. As the emergency department it’s in our
jurisdiction to identify the threats and hazards which are deemed to pose the greatest risk to the
city. These findings support the necessity for an all –hazards, capability-based way of working.
Some of the risks identified are;
Natural hazards—these are risks that are occur naturally and are not caused by humans. They
include hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires, and floods and they present a noteworthy risk.
A disease outbreak – an outbreak of a disease like influenza could result to a very big strain,
kill very many people, affect many more, and the end result is hefty economic loss. In addition
other infectious diseases caused by humans and also animals may have big risks.
Technological and accidental hazards, which can be a result of oil or chemical spills as well
as failures by water holding bodies , have the potential to result to wide-ranging fatalities in
addition to ruthless economic impacts, and likelihood of these hazards to recur is high due to
aging infrastructure.
Terrorist organizations and those affiliated with them have become a common emergency in
