4. The chart to the right gives gas mileage for different models of cars made by Acura
for the year 2014.
a. Calculate each probability for 6 cylinder cars.
The probability is the total number of cars with that gas mileage divided by the total
number of cars with 6 cylinders.
i. Gas mileage between 20-24 mpg
Cars that get between 20 and 24 mpg = 9
All cars with 6 cylinders = 10
Probability = 9 / 10 = 0.9
ii. Gas mileage between 25-29 mpg
Cars that get between 25 and 29 mpg = 0
All cars with 6 cylinders = 10
Probability = 0 / 10 = 0
iii. Gas mileage of at least 30 mpg
Cars that get at least 30 mpg = 1
All cars with 6 cylinders = 10
Probability = 1 / 10 = 0.1
b. Make a histogram using the probabilities calculated in part a.
