Summary: Affordable Care Act

The administration and management decisions that are made in the healthcare sector are
mainly based on the policies that have been put in place. These policies are put in place to help
with planning as well as the direction of actions to take in the health sector to accomplish certain
goals and agenda. Mainly, these policies are inclined towards the achievement of health care
goals that will benefit the society. On the other hand, preventive services also come in handy in
the race to achieving these goals. For instance, Affordable Care Act Policies has influence on the
access to preventive services.
According to Shearer (2010), the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) was
enacted in the year 2010. This particular law was passed to enhance the provision of the
preventive services in the healthcare sector. Section 2713 of the ACA states that private health

society to access these services. The Act enables individuals, large groups, small groups, as well
as self-insured plans. The act greatly influenced the coverage of private plans to four broad
categories of services that are given to children and adults as well. Under the ACA, investment is
made for the public health. This particular investment is made under the National Prevention,

which is under section 4001, is endowed with the task of presenting recommendations to the
President as well as the Congress (Seiler et al., 2014). The recommendations made by this
council are inclined towards the promotion of the provision of prevention programs. Upon these
recommendations, important laws and policies are passed which improve the healthcare service
provision. This particular initiative is endowed with the task of coordinating federal programs.
The Prevention and Public Health Fund (Sections 4002, 10401) initiative, unlike the
National Prevention, Health Promotion and Public Health Council, deals with resources that are
needed to help fund the prevention as well as public health initiatives. This particular fund is
invested mainly for the sole reason of maintaining and expanding what should be a sustained
national investment. This move is strategic for the achievement of the improvemen...
