PepsiCo is a multinational organization that focuses on the production of beverage products.
The headquarters of the company are located at New York. The company was founded in the
year 1965 and has been under the leadership of five CEOs with the current one being Indra
Nooyi. However, the company’s breakthrough success was realized from the onset of 2001 when
Indra was the Chief financial officer of the company worldwide. She is guided by a leadership
philosophy stating that ‘performance with purpose’.
After taking over the position of CEO, the company adopted a new organizational structure
which was of a decentralized nature. With a decentralized structure, the business units and
markets are able to make independent decisions however, they must uphold to the organizational
goals and policies (Kissinger, 2016). The company has been termed as one of the most adaptive
in the 21st century since it is not only constantly seeking improvements but also it integrates new
ideas in the market thus escalating consumption of their products along people’s life cycle.
PepsiCo has the following organizational leadership; marketing division, functional corporate
groups and global hierarchy.
