Organizations often use surveys or questionnaires to obtain information regarding employee satisfaction, the organizational issues impacting staff performance, perceptions of pay and benefits, organizational culture, etc. Sometimes, questionnaires are used in classes for staff development and focus on behavioral styles, conflict styles, or team behaviors. Additionally, they may be used to help intact teams or departments focus on and resolve team differences or performance issues. Many times, the questions themselves provide people with insight into what the organization expects from its employees.

In this assignment, you will imagine that you are part of a team that is not performing at a very high level. As a result all members of your team are completing this survey before you attend team training. You are to read the questions in the High Performing Work Teams Survey. You will analyze the questions, identify the trends you see in the questions, and discuss what you and your team members would learn by taking this survey.

Write 4-7 pages (not counting the cover or reference pages), summarizing the trends you identified, what you and your team members would learn from taking the survey, and conclusions about what is required of team members in order to create a high performing work team. Outside academic sources must be included in this assignment, and you should integrate readings and concepts from our course materials.

Support your opinions and statements with a minimum of five references from sources published within the last ten years. You can cite scholarly and practitioner-oriented journals, newspaper articles, YouTube videos, (but not Wikipedia, vendor websites, or other non-academic sources.) The UMUC online library is a great source. JSTOR, ABI INform, etc., are good databases that can be found in the UMUC library and UMUC librarians can help you identify appropriate sources. See the Library link in the Resources section (on the blue ribbon at the top of our classroom) for more information and to begin searching for sources. You may also want to consider having your paper "proofed" by another class member. Please read the attached for Grading Criteria for High Performing Work Team Analysis for details on how your paper will be graded.

Use APA format for citations, references, and quotations. This means your list of references should start on a separate page, and should be double spaced, with a hanging indent and no spaces between entries. Your report should be 4 - 7 pages (not counting the cover or reference pages), double spaced with one inch margins and a font size of at least 11 points.

Submit your assignment electronically via the Assignment folder.

Work Team Analysis Name Institution Affiliation Work Team Analysis Teamwork is a process through which individuals or members of the team work collaboratively to achieve some degree of success or realize shared goals. In most of the time, teamwork remains to be a crucial part of the success of any organization because they work mutually to accomplish the multiple goals set by the organization. Therefore, it continues to be the role of the teamwork to cooperate, using their skills to be in a position of providing constructive feedback despite the personal conflict that can be realized among them (Cohen & Levesque, 2011). Working in a low performing team, is one of the challenges that can realize among team members in realizing the goals and objectives of the team? To understand an efficient team that can be able to accomplish its aims and purposes, it is important to follow the guidelines offered by Tuckman teamwork theory. The method was developed purposely to be capitalized in explaining the nature of development and at the same time, the behavior of the team for it to remain a success. The phases that are associated with the theory include forming, storming, norming and at the same time, performing. These steps remain much importance in realizing an effective teamwork. When all the stages are followed systematically, there is the possibility of ensuring an effective partnership that will be able to realize the multiple goals set independence with their objectives. Some of the common questions that can be realized in the survey that the poor or low-performing teamwork can capitalize on to increase their effectiveness include. Firstly, it is much importance for the team to analyze the mission of the collaboration. This remains much importance because they will be able to understand their contributions to the organization, their primary purpose as a team and agree to them the functions the team will be in a position to perform. Additionally, it is much importance for the team to analyze their primary goals and objectives. The main purpose of the team is to work towards realizing their main goals and objectives all the time. They should remain motivated and be able to understand the quality and effectiveness of the team they should work towards the achievement of the in short and the long term (Yeatts & Hyten, 2008). Another question that remains paramount for the success of the teamwork is to analyze their roles in the organization. All the team members should always be focused on achieving their tasks effectively and be able to realize their expectation as teamwork. Through this, the team will work effectively towards achieving their goals. Additionally, as a team manager, it is much importance to encourage all the team members to participate equally and have effective procedures that can be realized in handling common problems of the unexpected events within the team. Additionally, it is much importance to analyze their effectiveness and relationship while performing mutually in realizing the goals of the organization. This will help in that they will be able to have the effective relationship for the benefit of the teamwork and at the same time, be able to realize the multiple goals and objectives. Therefore, during the preceding of the team, it is much important to analyze these questions to make sure that the team members are in a position to work collaboratively to realize the goals and objectives of the organization (Barrick, Stewart, Neubert & Mount, 2010). The trend that can be analyzed as per the questions that make the team have low-performance rates includes. Firstly, there is the likelihood of decreased satisfaction of the team members. In most of the time, when the satisfaction of the team is realized, there is the likelihood that the team will be able to achieve their goals and objectives. However, if they are not satisfied with the nature of work they work or the realization of their demand, there is the possibility of having poor work rates. Additionally, an additional trend that can be realized is that the team manager is not sufficient to lead the team because of his or her capability to address the issues or matters affecting the team. Therefore, it is the role of the team manager to ensure that there is the realization of the purpose of the team because this is one of the elements that the team is lacking. These trends should be addressed for the team to remain effective and be in a position to realize its goals and purpose all the time in the organization (Lowe & Herranen, 2008). The multiple aspects that can be learned by the team members after analyzing this survey include. Firstly, it is much importance for the team members to work collaboratively to realize their goals. When there limited collaboration, there is the likelihood that the team will not be able to realize their goals and objectives. Besides, it is the role of all the team members to remain responsible in addressing the issues concerning the team. This is importance because they will be able to resolve the conflict that can emerge among them. This is much concern for the team because when capitalized effectively, they will be able to increase their performance in a magnitude way. Besides, it is much significance for the team to understand the vision and mission of the organization and be able to work in achieving them. The mission and vision of the organization are much importance, and it should be understood by all team members and be able towards realizing them for the success of the organization. It is much significance for all members of the team to understand that they play a great role in the success of the team. Therefore, it is much important for the members to be responsible and be in a position to address issues that can realize in the team. Additionally, it is much importance for the team manager to be able to understand the need of satisfaction of the team members. The appreciation of the team members should be the obligation of the team manager. This will enable the team members to remain valid all the time, and they will work towards the achievement of the goals and objectives of the organization. In conclusion, teamwork is sufficient in an organization when practiced in an efficient manner. Teamwork always enables the employees of the organization to share responsibilities but work towards a realization of common goals and objectives set by the organization. However, for this to emulate there is the need for the team to realize their goals, mission, roles, satisfaction and be in a position to address conflicts whenever they are realized. Through this, the team will be able to realize a high performing teamwork (Neuman, Wagner & Christiansen, 2009). References Barrick, M. R., Stewart, G. L., Neubert, M. J., & Mount, M. K. (2010). with the group members’ view of key issues of the organization. The result from the research can
then be used in designing best ways of improving production am low performing teams and can
as well be used to encourage high performing teams. Importantly, low performing teams can
borrow a leaf from the feedback of the high performing teams. This paper, therefore, is going to
discuss key trends in the high performing teams and to additionally, analyze how the trend can
be used to encourage low performing teams.
