Description

Imagine yourself as the restaurant critic for a local newspaper. Select and visit an independently owned (not a chain) restaurant. Make notes about the menu, service, staffing, atmosphere, and any food trends. Then look up or visit a franchise or chain restaurant. Compare and contrast the two in your restaurant review. Is the management the same, different? How?

Then write a 2-page typed, double-spaced review using an outline of the two restaurants.

Please see the attached rubric that will be used to assess your critical thinking writing skills.

I was able to visit Windsor which is a privately owned restaurant operating in the heart of the
capital city. Windsor is its name and it is owned by the Richard Ellyson family, they are proud of
that place and it is run by Ellyson himself. He casually walks around with the biggest smile on
his face interacting with customers and helping where he needs to or as he sees fit.
I got an opportunity to talk with him and got to know that the place has been in his family for
over 20 years...
