American military experience during World War II
Causes for American involvement in the war
World War II is considered the largest and the world’s most significant conflict. It established an
intelligent structure of the modern military and the cold war framework for the postwar balance
of power. Before Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor, the American were reluctant to join the war
since its political leaders considered limiting its involvement in foreign affairs. Prior to 1941,
Congress had passed numerous Acts prohibiting American from getting involved in the war.
However, following the passing of the Lend-Lease Act in 1941 allowing the president to
transport military aid supplies to Britain, the Soviet Union, China, and other countries, Japan
attacked Pearl Harbor prompting America’s involvement in the war.

Present an analysis of the major military campaigns of the war.

The World War II promoted greater profession of arms. The war promote the use of tankers,
armored vehicles and aircrafts, nuclear bombs, modernized machine guns among other weapons
as the key for defense and peace restoration in the battlefield.

The war also prompted military preparedness for the defense of their country. In the spring of
1940 when German forces invaded a wooded district in France, the French Army plagued by a
divided command, low morale, and primitive means of communication was torn apart leaving
them defenseless. The same scenario happened on 14 June, when the German forces entered
Paris forcing the French government to sue for armistice. The occurrence of these events made
the rest of the countries to restructure their command and rethink about the applicable doctrines.
