The chosen higher education institution is Brown University. The university is a private
Ivy League research institution. It is located in Rhode Island, United States. Brown
University was founded in the year 1764, and it was the first higher educational institution to
accept learners from different religious backgrounds. The institution has a new curriculum
that is termed as the Brown Curriculum. This new curriculum was adopted in the year 1969
through faculty votes. The adoption came after a long period of learners lobbying. The
mandatory "general education" distribution requirements are done away with by this new
curriculum (Magaziner & Maxwell, 2011). Due to this, students were included in the
designing of their own syllabus. With the new curriculum in place, learners now have the
opportunity to take any course when it comes to a grade of satisfactory.
Primary responsibility for evaluating the curriculum
The faculty members should have the primary responsibility for evaluating the
