Harper Lee may have written the greatest American novel in history when she wrote, To Kill a
Mockingbird” and the movie version of the book did not disappoint. It was accurate in its portrayal of
the racial injustice which took place in much of the South during the 1930's. There are many important
similarities in the book and the movie that give credibility to both. There are also differences in the
movie version that raise discussion about whether the movie is completely true to the book. The
differences are minor and the movie could not have been better, with Gregory Peck delivering an
Academy Award winning performance. The movie of “To Kill a Mockingbird definitely stays true to
the book.
