Outline and Sources

One objective we are striving for in this course is to create a detailed preparation outline. By now you should have narrowed down your persuasive speech topic. This week we’ll put together your outline for the speech. You’ll also need to include four sources you’d like to use. You don’t have to use the exact sources for the speech but it’s in place to give a head start on your research.

For the outline, follow the template below. To help in brainstorming you can use the bubble chart below as well. The bubble chart doesn’t need to be included for the submission. It’s just there to help. For the outline give ideas as to what you’d present for each part. For instance if you were to use the topic about cutting back on sugar you can start with an attention getter about the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Then for the main point you can talk about health. Then fill in with other statements that goes with health. Then for the second main point it could be about weight or finding energy from other foods, etc. Remember each point can be brief. Just give an idea of what you think you’d mention. You don’t have to give any research or things like that, just ideas for each point.

Then after your outline copy and paste four sources you may use (they don’t have to be the final sources you’ll use). Paste them like you would in a reference page that I’ll be able to look at the sources for review. If you have any questions please let me know!

PLEASE FOLLOW THE SAMPLE TEMPLATE ATTACHED!

Student athletes or players should be on the honor roll to play sports
Introduction
A key rewarding experience for any student while in school is engaging in sports. Given
this fact, learning is at times put as second priority as lessons learned in athletics become the
greater focus. Today, talented athletes leave college in pursuit of professional contracts worth
significant amounts of money. Nonetheless, most school athletes fail to achieve professional
status, with the successful ones only playing till 33 years of age. The demand for sustained
discipline in sports, both at school and at a professional level calls for the need for honor rolls.
Argumentative analysis
Today, athletes show the dire need to go without an exit plan should it fail. Playing sports
is not a requirement, but learning and getting on the honor roll stands important. Student players
with good grades portray a sense of discipline and responsibility for most coaches. Additionally,
sports do not guarantee one of a good job, particularly where one is not yet a professional.
Schools should set a standard mark for athletes to avoid cases of straying from learning, which is
