Description
Create a story that compares the parts of the cell to another system. Some ideas could be: a school, a kitchen, a car, or anything you can imagine. Be sure to incorporate at least 5 different cell parts. In your story underline each analogous feature and match each analogous feature to a cell feature. Below is an example story that compares a cell to a city. Notice that the underlined parts of the city have functions that are similar to particular cell features. Although the functions are similar, the context of a city is different.
In a far away city known as Grant, the main export and production product is the steel widget. The town hall has the instructions for widget making. Any citizen of Grant can get the instructions and begin making their own widgets at home. Widgets are also made at a large warehouse near the town hall where many of the citizens of Grant are employed. A hydraulic dam located within the city powers the entire city of Grant. After the widgets are constructed, they are delivered to the city limits and large trucks transport them through a fence that surrounds the entire city.
