From the following list of famous dramatic monologues from William Shakespeare's plays, choose 2 versions of the same monologue. You will compare these 2 versions of the same monologue in step 3 below.

Compare the two versions of the same scene or monologue that you selected in step 2 above, and note the differences in the performances given. Look at various elements, such as acting, setting, scenery, lighting, and costumes. Compare at least three elements and provide specific examples from each scene or monologue that illustrate the differences you have noticed. Elaborate and develop the points made in your response fully in a 200 word paragraph.

In the monologue by King in Henry V, it is evident that the performance brings out the
mood of war. The King makes out a vow to any courageous man that is willing to shed their
blood for the sake of peace as he promises to honor and remember them. The King uses a
sympathetic tone to bring out the mood of war and loyalty to the throne as well as defense. This
is evident when the King states that in the story of war, the men shall be remembered. Similarly,
in the monolog by Macbeth, she brings out the tone and mood that are related to war with
Macbeth talking of the dagger’s blade that is involved in shedding blood. While the setting of the
monolog by the King is in a palace evident by the bright, with palatial things, the setting in the
monolog by Macbeth has dim lighting to bring out the mood of cruelty as Macbeth pleads
Duncan not to listen to the bell that could be summoning her to hell. The other difference in the
two monologs is in the costumes ...
