Tiffany Bradley was a teenager who came from a very disturbing family. Her mother was on drugs and her uncle was having inappropriate relations with her. Tiffani ended up becoming involved in prostution and caught some charges in the process. However, a new law was passed called the Safe Harbor law. The Safe Harbor law understands that young adolescents involved in prostitution doesn’t need jail time but rather help (Laureate Education, 2013). However, Tiffani appeared to be confused upon hearing the news. She stated that her pimp will think she snitched (Laureate Education, 2013). Policy advocates are to ensure the well-being of individuals. Political strategies that I would use to address one aspect of the situations/problems facing Susana and members of the Bradley family would be to make sure that Tiffani stays safe while she is out and free of charges. Even though Tiffani was free of her charges, it is not a guarantee that she will remain free of trouble. The strategy that I would develop would be to organize groups of social workers that can support these teens while they are out in society. As our example of the social work intern suggests, power relation-ships and power resources also are used extensively in social agencies as advocates try to improve services for clients (Jannson, 2018). I would come together with other social workers to see what kind of services we could provided to people like Tiffani and provide them with information on human trafficking and the prevalence of it. The critical first element in policy advocacy is an innovative idea that promotes social justice (Sherraden, Slosar & Sherraden, 2002). As we know, most services cost. You will then utilize the textbook, online materials, and the South Online Library in order to write a two-page essay on the deviant (not criminal) experience.Below you will find a step-by-step guide for completing this paper:First, review the sections on Research Ethics and the subsection on Testing a Hypothesis under the section Research Methods in chapter one of your text in order to familiarize yourself with sociological experiments. Then, begin this assignment by choosing a folkway to violate. Examples include (and there are many folkways to choose from): wearing the other gender’s clothing, speaking a foreign language to an English speaker, sitting with a stranger at a restaurant, and eating dinner with your hands. Be sure to ask your facilitator if you are unsure if the norm you choose to violate is appropriate for this assignment. Here is an example of a norm violation for you to watch: . Bill is 48 years old and has repaired lawn mowers in his small shop in Fairview, Tennessee for the last 8 years. He is about 30 miles from Nashville, Tennessee, and he is just 12 miles from Dickson, Tennessee. He has deliberately kept his business small to control costs and complexity. Last week, he received a bulletin from this leading tractor manufacturer that it is introducing a new model with a new computer-based monitoring system. Although he has dealt with limited applications of computer chips in these machines, this is a much more sophisticated application. He knows that several of his customers own this brand of mower and that they are likely to buy the new models. He wants to learn how to repair these computer-based monitoring systems. In the bulletin, the company announced a limited number of seminars at the manufacturing plant in Horicon, Wisconsin. It has also announced a series of Webinars and online training sessions for the new innovation. There is also a manufacturer’s service manual for the new models. Bill cannot take time off or afford to travel to the seminars.
Answer the following questions based on the scenario:
What do you think Bill should do to construct a learning plan? If he were to write one out, formally, what might it look like? How would you express his learning needs? What would his terminal performance objective look like?
