Great expectations were the thirteenth novel written by Charles Dickens and the plot of
the story is set in Kent and London. The storyline involves a young boy, Pip and the book tries to
show the challenges that the boy went through. The novel is narrated in the first person’s
statement and it is actually Dickens’s second novel to be narrated in the first person form. Pip is
a vagrant living in Kent with his harsh sister and her better half, Joe Gargery, the town metal
forger (Dickens, Law, & Pinnington, 1998). While seating in the churchyard close to the
headstones of his folks, Pip is confronted by an escaped convict. The convict convinces Pip into
stealing food for him, and also a file. The next mornin...
