Energy consumption brings about development in an economy. The energy consumption
of Americans is higher as compared to that of Indians since they are more productive in their
activities. It is advantageous to the economy since energy sources are used to stimulate economic
activities. Employment of citizens leads to a higher collection of taxes by the government and the
taxes are used for social program sustenance. India is a developing country with low-level
demand skills sourced by Fortune 500 companies. The consumption of energy by Indians is only
used for basic amenities at their homes. Luxuries are barely sustainable with the level of income
average Indian makes in a day.
My feeling towards this kind of consumption is negative since Americans use energy
sources that are non-renewable. Non-renewable sources of energy contribute to environmental
degradation. Fossil fuel such as coal pollutes the environment through emissions of smoke from
their plants. Higher consumption of energy leads to more investment in coal production hence
