Background:
Nowadays Universities in United states have some issues with pollutions because
that temporary materials they use. Some universities know about it and try to find
alternative ways to solve these problems that they are facing it. For example,
Massachusetts instantiation of technology (MIT) are using sustain materials and they
recycle what they have used. It is a big problem that some universities do not care and
know about. They still use chemicals which damage the environment. Pollutions is a
big deal not only for us also it will affect our future. Our children will live in world
that they wish they do not live on it. They are going to blame us about it and they
have total right to blame us.
Not only universities have responsible for the pollutions also, other cooperation
have it too. Universities must educate people and teach them how to save the
environment. Sustainability is a key to stop what they have in our life. It is not
guaranteed but it is going to prevent the pollutions that we faced nowadays so that
why universities must teach them.
Methods:
At first, I am going to explain what cause the pollutions which we have today. The
history of using chemicals and temporary items and when that cause all problems.
Besides, I will explain some methods that will prevent or stop problems. In addition,
substitute ways that we are going to use instead of using chemicals such as going
green or sustainability. After that, I am going to use my sources to give evidences
about the dangerous and the solitons of pollutions. I will analyze these sources that I
am going to use. Ask some questions and try to be more critical about it. After I have
done with analyzing my source try to compare it with my knowledge and research that
I have done on my subject and the role of universities in sustainability.

Significance:
Most universities use sustains items that will prevent pollution and keep our
environment clean and safe for us also for our children. People will be more educated
about how dangers and serious is that we are having issues with our environment.
Although, they are not going to use cheap items or bad quality to use instead of
sustains items even though it is cheaper because they are going to save environment.
We will live in better place.

I.Introduction
1. Universities have an important play role to aware students and people how
important is to save the environment. (Attention grab)
2. The concept of sustainability and how that is going to change our future (Preview)
A. Instead of using materials that will cause pollution that will hurt our
environment now also in future.
B. How is going green important.
C. How we can clean our usage instead of using things that damage our
life.
D. Universities have to educate what the meaning of sustainability to
the students because they are the new generations.
3. Going green and the way to build our future and universities should teach students
because if students will be new leaders, promote a heathy campus community,
create opportunities for students, role of social media, challenges that face them and
how the other people think of sustainability. (Thesis)
Translation: It is important to aware people what sustainability could do in our
environment.
II.
Body Paragraphs
1. The perspectives of both sides teacher and students are very important to know
Alqahtani 2
because that will help to understand the concepts of sustainability.
A. Not all teachers believe in environmental issues but universities have to
promote that because that will change our future.
B. Students' perspectives will be against and with going green because some of
them believe that they are not going to hurt the environment because they
are few people. Therefore, smoker will not quit because he will say it just
one cigarette will not damage the environment.
C. Both perspectives agree that sustainability it is a chance to live a better life
for students and people because it will be going to find jobs and being clean
for students and staffs.
Translation: teachers' and students' perspectives are quite similar because there are two
sides agree and disagree but they have several reasons and universities should create
messages to all teachers and students.
2- The major role of universities to teach the meaning of sustainability and how
important in future.
A. Being sustains are the ways that we should use as a main source instead of
fossil gas because it is cleaner and better for our environment, also it will
not damage environment.
B. Nowadays we have issues with our environment such as global warming.
Universities must stick the idea of being sustain to the students' brains
because some of powerful leaders nowadays do not believe in sustainability.
Alqahtani 3
For example, the president of USA thinks it just a hoax invented by Chinese
to get money from other countries.
C. Students are going to build a better future due to what they have been
learning from universities. They will be new doctors, lawyers, teachers,
policeman … etc. that means students are going to be new leaders that will
have power to save the environment.
D. Students will promote a healthy life in campus so they are going to create
clean communities inside the campus. University can find opportunity for
students to work and feel what being healthy and sustains mean.
Translation: How important the role of universities to deliver the idea of
being sustain to the students very clear because they are going to be new
leaders and build the future and how students and teacher see this idea very
important.
3. Universities staff, teacher and students have to clear their idea to each other and
explain why they are agree or not.
A. One of the way is social media. Students can create a clear idea what they
believe in and show it to other and explain why it is important to be sustain.
B. Teachers can show how dangers of damage our environment and how will be
our future if we are not going to be green.
C. It is more efficient and easier to explains ideas and match it with others to be
persuadable or not.
Alqahtani 4
Translation: Social media is a good way to spread ideas and share it with others to be
more efficient and organized.
III.
Conclusion
1. The role of universities is very important because they are main source of
knowledge that students learned from it. So, they must explain to students
what sustainability means because they are going to be powerful leaders in
future also how hard to create societies that promoting healthy life throw
social media or other ways.
2. Going green is important because environment has issues nowadays such as
global warming. People should take care of environment and life with cleaner
and healthier environment in future.
3. Universities staffs, teachers, or students must know each other perspective to
understand and clear ideas to each other due to persuade them how important
it is and everyone has responsibility of the environment.
4. In the end, universities have to include sustainable practices in their students
to keep campus community clean and safe for students also to have impact on
our future because they are going to be leaders in future.

sustainability in universities. It conducted his research in 18 universities which
will help our research. He ranks it into three ranks: high ranked, low ranked and
benchmark universities. This articles can help me with comparing the level of
sustains between USA universities and Swedish universities to show that if USA
still working in that issue and how students see this in their views. In addition,
how will affect the students' performance if they are going to be green, so this
article give me information that I need to explain how going green is a good thing
for students also explain to us how students feel about that issue. Lastly, it give us
a good comparison between USA and Swedish universities.

help with discovered new methods to aware students and teachers how
sustainability is an important issue that we have deal with it. Also, it helps me
with how we can confess students to know how important the environment in our
life. In addition, it is important to stick the idea of sustainability in the students
minds because they are going to build and create a good environment in the
future. Social media is inexpensive to share your ideas and take knowledge from
others so in this article showed me how we use it in sustainability in universities.

Alqahtani-1
This source discusses the role of universities in how to be sustains. In this article
focus on how important that universities have to put policies that reduce
pollutions epically in canvas. It showed to us not only that effects in campus or
universities it also will effects our society because if we just keep the idea of
going green in campus students also can do it outside the campus and that will
help the society. So this article help me to give me information that I need to
explain how it is important.

AL-Rahbi-3
Recycling Process protects the environment
"We live in a disposable society. It's easier to throw things out than to fix them. We even
give it a name - we call it recycling,” Neil Labute, an American author. In general, it is normal
that people buy different things, then they throw it after they use because they think that it will
not work again. However, there is a point often overlooked, which is when people throw things,
it will be as a rubbish which affects negatively on the environment, so it is important to search
about perfect solution that can protect our earth. Fortunately, humans can user recycling as a
solution that helps to save our planet. In fact, the recycling process is a great way to protect our
environment and keep it clean for many future years. It is a process that people use to make
something new from something that has been used before. There is an a idea we have to put in
mind which is in this life, everything as it has positive face, also it has negative face. So, in spite
of the fact that people need to use recycling process because it is very important to save our
earth, it has many different cons that effect in various ways to the environment. It must be
remembered that humans is the major cause of problems, but also they are the main solution. It is
necessary to know that the government has the main responsibility to protect the earth by using
recycling. However, because one hand cannot clap fluent, so people have to help their
government and try to use different ways of recycling to save our planet. Recycling is an
essential part of preserving the earth for future generations. In considering the various resources
that different countries have around the world, or lack thereof, it is a worthwhile topic to explore
recycling process, the need to use it and cons, and the role of the government and people to
protect the earth and how effective they are in making a difference in the environment. So, in the
first place, it is important to know more information about the recycling process and the different
kinds of recycling.
AL-Rahbi-4
Different Kinds of Recycling Process
First key point, recycling is a process that people use to change something that has been
used before and make something new and good to use again. In reality, waste and how to deal
with it is the main concern in many different countries. In view of what caused this waste and
because it is a source of danger to human life and the environment, so it is necessary to know
more information about how to solve this problem. In general, because waste is a source of per
hated and all other negative results which is caused by the accumulation of large amounts of
waste has led to the development various ways and innovative such as recycling, which works to
reduce this dangerous and waste resulting from the accumulation rubbish. Recycling process is a
great way that helps to protect the environment and keeps it for the future generations. In fact,
people did not start using this process recently, but they started it from history because they
needed to protect the earth from hazardous waste. In addition, they needed to create new stuff
from something that is already used. According to Ramayah, T.a, in his article Sustaining the
Environment through Recycling, “200 university students in the U.S. believe that recycling is the
most successful way that helps the sustainability of the resources of the earth and saved for many
years."(Ramayah 24). In other words, recycling helps to create opportunities for the
sustainability of resources, which is the ability to maintain the quality of life we are living in the
long term, and this in turn depends on keeping the natural world and the responsible use of
natural resources. Personally, based on the Ministry of Health in my country Oman, recycling
contributes to prevent injury to people from many serious diseases such as Smallpox and Chronic
fever, because the recycling process helps to dispose of hazardous waste on health. In one corner,
this serious diseases do not happen because one kind of hazardous waste. On the opposite corner,
AL-Rahbi-5
to get rid of the garbage, people should follow different ways of recycling that rely on
identifying recycling king.
In fact, there are many different kinds of recycling, which depend on the materials, and
what it is cause. Firstly, paper recycling such as newspaper, book, posters, cardboards, and
magazines. According to Dima, Andora in her article “Extending the Theory of Planned
Behavior in the Context of Recycling,” she discusses that, the most active kind of recycling is
paper recycling because more than half of territory in each country is government institutions,
department, and companies, which depend entirely on the use of peper during their work. Plastic
recycling is another kind of recycling which is as important as paper recycling. In particular,
plastic materials such as bags, toys, some household items, some kind of clothes, and vehicle
tires are the most serious types of waste. To explain that, when plastic materials decompose, they
seep into the ground and cause environmental pollution, so people in urgent need to plastic
material recycling to protect the environment. Thirdly, another important kind of recycling is
water recycling. In reality, we know that the world faces a big challenge which is water
pollution, so the main duty of the water purification stations work hard and make every effort to
save water and trying to wastewater recycling. According to Diamond, Jared in his article Will
big businesses save the earth, he discusses that, Coca Cola Company seeks to recycle water to
get their benefits and at the same time it tries to protect the environment especially water from
having pollution. Finally, metal recycling and textile materials recycling are other two examples
of recycling that people not just they should know more information about them, but also try to
use them to protect our planet. Overall, recycling is an easy and great way that helps to protect
our environment from much different pollution and make new things from other thing that has
been used before. In addition to that, it is better to enrich our knowledge by identifying the
AL-Rahbi-6
different types of recycling. In spite of the fact that recycling is very important for our planet, it
has negative side that might affect badly on the environment and then on the humans’ life.
Recycling Process Has Positive and Negative Faces
The recycling process is a very important process, which protects the environment and
has many different benefits. In fact, since that identified the communities to environmental
problems, many countries have taken measures to recycle and they get various avails. Firstly,
recycling process helps to protect the environment from much different serious pollution and
reduce waste. In other words, human habits cause various pollutions, which lead to drain more
from natural sources, so it is necessary to use recycling process and try to save the natural life
from all kinds of pollutions. Secondly, people can overcome a lot of dangerous diseases such as
Allergies and Human pox by recycling. In reality, recycling process helps to get rid of the
accumulation of garbage, which consider as home to the proliferation of many bacteria and
viruses that cause various diseases. Thirdly, recycling process produces new materials that
people can use again and again. According to Berry, Frances in his article "Analyzing Effective
Municipal Solid Waste Recycling Programs, " he said that, " People can use electronic devices
and cotton materials for many times and the same quality through the use of the recycling
process." (Berry 3). It is amazing to know that sometimes recycling process save the quality of
the material and makes them look like new stuff and no one uses them before. Finally, recycling
process creates new jobs in recycling companies, so people can work to get new experience and
protect the environment at the same time. Based on the a case study of Germany community in
the article Voluntary Approaches to Solid Waste Management in Small Towns which is written
by Vasut, Laura, Recycling department contributed to reduce the unemployment rate to 7.3%.
AL-Rahbi-7
All in all, the recycling process is a very leading process, which has many pros that help to keep
the environment clean.
The earth needs recycling process to protect it from many serious problems; however
recycling has many different cons that affect badly on our planet. In general, it seems that a lot of
people believe that recycling process is positive process and it just has pros, but that is not true
because recycling process has positive and negative sides. As a result, it is important realize and
educate people that recycling process has some negative outcomes. First of all cons is that
sometimes recycling process leads to produce inferior materials, so people cannot use or keep for
a long time. In addition, these materials do not reserves the same quality as they were before
recycling. Secondly, in one hand, people can recycle some things just around three times and
then they throw them, because they lost their advantages and elements of the job and becoming
bad and do not valid for use again. On the other hand, there are some materials people cannot
recycle, so humans turn to not just throw them, but also landfills which lead to pollute the
environment and then cause many dangerous diseases. According to Dima, Andora in her article
Extending the Theory of Planned Behavior in the Context of Recycling, 68.04% paper materials
are recyclable only once, so it is filled to the underground, which cause environmental pollution.
Finally, unfortunately recycling process is very expensive process and any country that wants to
recycle, it must have a lot of money, which helps to buy recycling machines. In addition,
recycling process needs specific places. Therefore, the country must be allocated certain lands
for the establishment of recycling companies and this needs a lot of money and a lot of countries
do not have this amount of money. As shown above, as recycling process has many different
pros, which protect the environment, it also has several of cons. Given the importance of
AL-Rahbi-8
recycling process, the government and people try to work hard and share in recycling to protect
the world.
The Government and People’s Responsibility for Recycling
The government has the biggest responsibility to prevent the accumulation of waste on
the surface of the earth by using recycling process. In fact, the government has the power and all
the means necessary to protect the Earth, making it bear the bulk of responsibility. It is important
to point out that the government tries to use recycling for many different purposes. The first
purpose is to remember that the government seeks to protect the environment from pollutions by
recycling the waste. Also, it tries to save people from dangerous illness that could occur due to
the accumulation of contaminants on the surface of the earth. Of duty to point out to the great
roles played by the government in order to develop the recycling process and protect the
environment. Actually, the government uses various ways in recycling, for example, built
recycling companies and supports them, tries to advise people about the importance of recycling
through social media, and adds recycling as a topic to study it and the schools. Maybe it will
surprise you if you know that the government is working diligently to support private sector and
shares with it to protect the earth by using recycling. According to Diamond, Jared in his article
Will big businesses save the earth, Coca Cola company seeks to recycle water to get their
benefits and at the same time it tries to protect the environment especially water from having
pollution. Personally, in my country "Oman", the government allocates a large part of the funds
to support the recycling process and strives to educate people about the importance of recycling.
Not just that, but also the Omani government encourages its population to support recycling
process and gives them everything they need to share in the recycling process. I recommend that
AL-Rahbi-9
all people should estimate the efforts by the government to protect the environment and seek to
help it. In general, there are a lot of people think that government is the only one who is
responsible for recycling, but in fact, the government and people together responsible for
recycling.
People have equal responsibility to the government to protect the environment by using
recycled. In reality, people can share in the recycling process by different ways, such as using
creative recycling and supporting NGO's. According to Shup, Kate in his book " Rubbish! Reuse
Your Refuse," he writes that " Imelda Marco, the First Lady of the Philippines said, " Filipinos
don't wallow in what is miserable and ugly. They recycle the bad into things of beauty."(Shup
104). In fact, a lot of countries encourage their population to recycle in simple and creative
methods, which help to protect the earth and have a creative person. To explain that, one
amazing way that humans can follow for recycling is using creative recycling. Actually, creative
recycling means producing something new and beautiful from something that has been used
before. There are many different ideas for creative reuse such as making dolls from newspaper,
product vase by using cans, and making candlestick from paper. According to Shoup, Kate, in
his book Rubbish! Reuse Your Refuse, in Philadelphia 45.3٪ of plastic bottles reuses to create
new and beautiful things and in 2007 in Tokyo region- Japan, people created 1407 beautiful
things from the stuff they already used. There is a point often overlooked, which is people can
use the tools that have been recycled in different ways, for instance, they can use it to decorate
the house or sell the creative things for others who interested in it. Also, humans can put the
innovative things in art museums. Not only that, but also students can the new tools in their
school projects. In summary, creative recycling is an easy way to protect our planet and innovate
new things at the same time. Moreover, people can share in the recycling process through
AL-Rahbi-10
NGO's. It is important for humans to know the NGO's recycling plan and try to support them by
various ways, such as work and help them, advise other people about the importance of
recycling, and use social media to announce about the NGO's. Recycling is one way shows the
cooperation between people and their government to protect the environment and save it for the
future generations.
Recycling Process Is Our protector
In conclusion, the recycling process is a good way to protect the earth and makes people
cooperate with the government to save the environment. So, it is necessary to know more about
recycling process, some positive and negative sides, and the role of the government and people
in the recycling process to live in a clean planet. Everyone agrees with that recycling process is a
great way that people use to protect our earth. In fact, there are many different ways of saving the
earth and one of them is recycling process. I strongly believe that recycling process is a great
work, especially if people try to make something new and beautiful from the things that have
been recycled.it is important to mention for that many different countries already started
recycling such as the US, but others have plans to start it in the future because they still study the
pros and cons of recycling. As a matter of fact, a lot of people believe that government has the
only responsibility to recycle because it has the power for that. However, it is important to know
that all adults have to share with their government in the recycling process to protect the
environment even by simple ways like creative recycling. Finally, you cannot imagine how the
life will be if we use recycling to protect the environment from different pollutions as well as
produce something new from something that has been used.
