electronics. The exam two is due on April 17, 2017.
1. Apply the sociological basic concept—deviance and how it is related to conformity and social
control? Include differential theory, strain theory, and label theory in your answer.
2. What is structural strain? What are the sources of structural strain in the United States? What are
the responses to structural strain (Merton’s Typology)?
3. Analyze how global stratification came about; discuss colonialism, world system theory, and
culture of poverty.
4. How do you understand social stratification using your life experiences as evidence supported with
five concepts (sociological ideas) from the text)?
5. If our actions and behaviors mostly reproduce the condition in which we live, how can we change
gender and racial inequality? Bring awareness from the film The Lady in the Van, on social interaction and creation of ingroups/outgroups. Utilize concepts like status, social class and construction of reality from chapter four.
