Question
If you were a black slave during the war for Independence, would you have supported the
colonial rebels or the British Empire? Explain your choice in detail.
The principal aim of the American Revolution was centered in granting the Americans with
the right of controlling the property that they owned during the 18th century including the human
beings who used to be treated as slaves during that historical period. The Revolution reinforced
the commitments of the Americans to slavery in many ways. However, it did so while still hanging
radical ideas that were new regarding the equality as well as liberty among all the people, creating
a challenge to the long tradition of human inequality that the slavery subjected to the selected
groups of the Africans Americans. As a result, there would be every reason for me to support the
American in the revolution war because it was leading to the creation of the light for the liberation
from the act of slavery. Indeed, it gave a chance for the slaves to express the capacity they had
especially when they served in the military against the Britain ruling the Americans (Zinn, 2016).
Additionally, I find it essential in supporting the Americans as an African American slave
because this was an excellent opportunity for the slaves to explore the weaknesses of the
oppressors and determine the point at which they would rise and fight for their freedom. The
Africans American had the opportunities of proving that they were not inferior, as their masters
had taken them to be over the years during this war by assisting them to conquer their rival Britain
troops. I believe this action would boost the respect and levels of recognition that the white man
gave the blacks. Additionally, it made sense that the fact that the ultimate aim of the war was the
attainment of the equality indicated hope that the slaves would probably reap the fruits of the hard
work.

slavery as a healthy and a positive thing in the society. The blacks suffered in the hands of the
whites where they were and treated as if they had no capacity like any other human beings.
However, the black Americans continued questioning and denying the act of slavery to the extent
of challenging the situation during the Revolution Era. Challenges to the act of slavery came from
all the directions, partly from a new evangelical religious commitment that was stressing equality
among all the Christians, and partly from Revolutionary ideals. Some ...
