Description
Review David Davenport’s essay, “The New Diplomacy”: (in Doc Sharing). Provide a response of no more than three paragraphs reflecting upon America’s changing view of its interaction with multilateral organizations. Some questions to consider:
Was the multilateral framework developed immediately after World War II an aberration from America’s traditional isolationist outlook?
Did the Cold War truly transform America’s interaction with the world? Or was America’s reliance and synergies with Asian and European partners merely a “marriage of convenience” that ended once the Soviet Union fell?
Outline your personal view of the current direction of America’s posture and attitude towards international organizations, and the impact of that direction upon the ability of First Responders to rely upon the assistance of international organizations. Your response should be at least 4 paragraphs.
