VR is a phenomenon which refers to a high-level end user interface which involves a real-time simulation experience and interaction over several sensorial modes. • Why VR? VR is a modern way which able the end user to a computer-generated world of his/her own making, for example a room, a city, even the interior of human body and the more amazing thing of VR is that you can explore any uncharted territory of the human imagination. Type of VR • Windows on World(WoW) • Also called Desktop VR • Display the 3D virtual world using a conventional computer monitor is called WoW. • Immersive VR • User’s personal viewpoint inside the virtual 3D world completely immerse. • In Immersive VR, user has no visual contact with the physical world. • For example, a Head Mounted Display. • Mixed Reality • The seamless mergence of a real world and virtual world. • Integration of computer generated virtual object into the physical world which become in a sense an equal part of our natural world. Types of VR (Cont’d) • Telepresence • A variation of visualizing a complete computer generated worlds. • In telepresence, the user links remote sensors in the real world with the senses of a human operator. • Distributed VR • The network of simulated world run on multiple computers so that user can able to interact in real time, that is sharing the same virtual world VR Examples Windows on World Immersive VR Mixed Reality Telepresence VR Applications Entertainment Medicine Applications (Cont’d) Manufacturing Education The End Questions ? SENIOR PROJECT PROPOSAL Name: Mohamad Jastaneiah Professor: Li Chen Date: 03/12/2017 Description For my senior project, I will write a short, informative paper about Virtual Reality (VR) for student e-learning. I will write brief descriptions of different factors, applications and their software. Also, I will research VR mythological and techniques including in the advantages and disadvantages. I will write it with help from my mentor, teachers and peers and have it professionally bound. Objectives This project would be an extend for me since it includes a lot of discipline to finish without scramble. It requires persistence and having the capacity to think and compose unmistakably and inventively for drawn out stretches of time. Research about on the applications will likewise oblige me to have a decent order over language structure and research methodologies. Besides, this project would be a test since it needs carefulness (something I need). Persuasive research I plan to convince my readers to comprehend the significance of perusing and exposure to this paper and different types of writing for Virtual Reality improvement and its helpful impacts on scholastic performance later on in life.

Explanation & Answer

Hello! Here is the requested document, please let me know if change is needed.Remember to invite me to your next assignment too. 😀 BTW, I was not sure about if you will need the presentation, I made some changes to that document also, let me know if you need something else.

Virtual Reality
Types of Virtual Reality (VR)

Windows on World (WoW)
They have been defined as systems of Virtual Reality without Immersion. Some systems use a
conventional monitor to display the virtual world.
These systems are known as WOW (Window on a World) and also as Desktop Virtual Reality,
these technologies try to make the image that appears on the screen look real and that the
objects represented in it act with realism.

Immersive VR
The most sophisticated Virtual Reality systems allow the user to feel "submerged" inside
the virtual world. The phenomenon of immersion can be experienced in 4 different
modalities, depending on the strategy adopted to generate this illusion.
These immersive systems are usually equipped with an HMD helmet-visor. This device is
equipped with a helmet or mask that contains visual resources, in the form of two
miniature screens coordinated to produce stereoscopic vision and acoustic resources of
three-dimensional effects.
A variant of this approach is the fact that there is no helmet as such, but a visor
incorporated in an armature that frees the user from the helmet, providing him with a rod
(like that of submarine periscopes) that allows to raise, lower or control the Orientation of
the image obtained through the viewfinder.

Mixed Reality

By merging the systems of telepresence and virtual reality we obtain the so-called
systems of Mixed Reality. Here the inputs generated by the computer are mixed with
telepresence inputs and / or the vision of the real world users.

This type of system is oriented to the strategy of enhancing the perceptions of the
operator or user with respect to the real world. In order to achieve this it uses an essential
type of HMD of transparent vision (see trough), that relies on the use of a combinator that
is a special screen, which is transparent to the light that enters from the real world, but
that to the Instead reflects the light pointed at it by the optical devices located inside the
HMD.

Telepresence

This technology links remote sensors in the real world with the senses of a human
operator. The sensors used can be installed in a robot or in the ends of tools type Waldo.
In this way the user can operate the equipment as if it were part of it.

This technology has an extremely promising future. NASA intends to use it as a resource
for remote planetary exploration.

Telepresence necessarily includes a degree of immersion involving the use of remote
control, but has its own characteristics that are discernible enough to assign a particular
classification.

Distributed VR

The idea behind distributed VR is very simple; a simulated world runs not on one
computer system, but on several. The computers are connected over a network (possibly
the global Internet) and people using those computers are able to interact in real time,
sharing the same virtual world. In theory, people can be sitting at home in London, Paris,
New York and Edmonton, all interacting in a meaningful way in VR.

Applications of VR
There is a large list o...
