Description

More than half of the paper is already done! Just need put in all in proper APA format. Also I sent rubric and need only d-conclusion C please. TO answer D you will need to find the mean and standard variation of the 5 scenarios that I also sent with rubric. Most of it is done already, but the rest requires some writing and the use of mean and variation skills only for 5 questions and that's all. This assignment is really simple just need use writing skills and use of statistics. simple!

WHEN DO CHILDREN START TO CRAWL?

Introduction:
I have chosen data set one because it involves infant development. This topic is of
personal interest to me because several of my family members are expecting their first child. I
think an understanding to child development is also relevant to my academic concentration in
forensic psychology. A forensic psychologist often acts in the capacity of an expert witness to
offer amicus curiae before the court. This can specifically involve giving testimony on potential
developmental benefits and detriments posed by altering a ward of the state’s environment such
as changing their foster home.
The involved parties are infants who at the median age of 32 weeks old when they started
crawling. The subjects were selected over a three- year period, and all subjects were recruited
from the same geographical location in Colorado.
This study exemplifies one that agrees with The American Psychological Association’s
(APA) Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct. In this regard, data was
obtained through retrospective parent questioning when infants were brought to the University of
Denver. The information was also obtained from each parent and they gave consent.
Some ethical issues that may arise would be things like competence boundaries. Informed
consent is also very important because when people are being studied they should have given
permission. In this case, since the object of the study is composed of toddlers, it will be their
parents to give their informed consent.
From an ethical point of view, it is important that I make sure the people I am studying
have full information about what the study will involve. I also think the worthiness of the project
is important and it will contribute in some significant way. Some aspects that can affect the
ethical considerations of the project include the ability to do any harm and risk to the evaluated

population, honesty and trust, privacy confidentiality and anonymity, intervention and advocacy,
research integrity and quality. Finally, I would need to evaluate if my study is being conducted
thoughtfully and correctly in terms of some set standards.
One way in which I will ensure that my reporting of results aligns with the APA ethics
code is by ensuring the safe storage of confidential records. In this regard, at the outset, I will
notify people what will be done with case materials, photos and audio and video recordings, and
secure their consent. Also, make sure rooms where confidential conversations occur are
SOUNDPROOF.
Statistical analysis:
The sample size (n) in data set one is 12. Though this sample is further divided into
groups based on raw data, this does not affect the sample size. Since n < 30, this can be
considered a relatively small sample. This means it is less representative of the population at
large than a larger sample. Due to the Central Limit Theorem, a sample of this size may not
appear to be normally distributed on a histogram (Bennett, Briggs, & Triola, 2013).
In a first approach, I will evaluate if the claim “The average age at which children start to
crawl is of 32 weeks” is valid or not. This will be done by applying a hypothesis test that
compares two hypotheses: the null hypothesis and the alternative hypothesis. In this regard, the
alternative hypothesis, H1 or Ha, is a statistical proposition stating that there is a significant
difference between a hypothesized value of a population parameter and its estimated value,
whereas the null hypothesis, Ho, is a statistical proposition stating that there is not a significant
difference between the hypothesized value of a population parameter and its estimated value
(Bennett, Briggs, & Triola, 2013). Taking this into account, the hypothesis test carried out
involves the comparison of:

Null hypothesis (Ho): μ = 32 weeks

Alternative hypothesis (Ha): μ ≠ 32 weeks
One important aspect to consider when doing a hypothesis test of this type is that whe...
