This is a platform that allows configuration, creation, and manipulation of applications
through the internet. It thus enables an organization to store voluminous data without necessarily
incurring costs of purchasing the expensive storage devices. It allows the user to get access to
any information at anytime and anywhere. The current organizations and countries have been
looking forward towards the improvement of their technology level. This is through embracing
the cloud computing technology. The term cloud is used symbolically to denote accessing a
range of services through remote means, the internet.
Implications of Cloud Computing
Cloud computing has features which makes it more beneficial to the users. Firstly, It
provides online self-service services the hardly require any direct interaction between the user
and the vendor. Secondly it provides access to many users using different accessories like
phones, laptops mentioned but a few. Thirdly its characterized by its ability to concentrate the
various resources such that, they can be accessed by many users at the same time. Fourthly, it has
potential of contracting the scale of operations depending on the needs of the user. Lastly, it has
the ability to control and monitor the usage of the resources (Chandrasekaran, 2015).
The huge cost associated with the acquisition of such services in an organization is relatively
high. An organization that inhibits this technology would enjoy tremendous growth in its
productivity, information wealth as well as being technologically developed. It best suit those
firms that cannot afford hard wares, software and storages devices that can be afforded by large
companies (Thomas, 2009).
