Research a minimum of three peer-reviewed articles in addition to information from your text on the disorder you chose in Week One. Consider the key classes of drugs used to treat the disorder you chose in Week One and explain their action at the neurotransmitter system involved in the disease process. Analyze and describe the agonist-antagonist activity of the drugs and the receptor types and subtypes involved in the disorder. Elaborate on the receptor agonist-antagonist actions of the drugs and describe the most common side effects seen with these drugs. Evaluate the risk-benefits of drug use for this disorder.

The Key Classes of Drugs Used to Treat ADHD
Medication is very important in controlling or treating Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity
Disorder (ADHD). There are different types of drugs that can be used to control ADHD disorder
though it is good to consult the doctor in order to know which one is appropriate. The medication
used for treatment of ADHD can be categorized into two major categories. These categories are
stimulant and non-stimulant medication. These medications function by improving the
functionality of some parts of the brain so that they can communicate with each other hence
improving the alertness and how memory works so that hyperactivity can be reduced. Although
these medications are important, each of them is associated with some side effects.
The first key category is the stimulant medication. This type of medication is the most
recommended and has widely been used in the treatment of ADHD in children. The use of this
