Epistemology Origins Problem Solution Destiny Naturalism Naturalism is founded on scientific observation and reasoning. Science is the definitive power. Evolution is the dominate view. It struggles to find a beginning point. Most naturalist believe that the universe exists firmly by the evolution theory. The common response to the question of origin is the Big Bang Theory. Things cannot be different because of only natural means. Everything is centered around survival of the fittest and natural selection. The future is reliant on advanced technology to increase human years. Believes there is no heaven or hell and has nothing to offer in the afterlife. They only try to make life better and longer through technology and science. Postmodernism The postmodernism worldview knowledge is up to the individuals on path. It creates a create your own religion type approach. It is really whatever you want it to. The postmodern worldview does not claim theory of origins. Though no specific means of origins is claimed ideas of a universal soul is accepted. The Universe is God and is abstract. Naturalists have a hard time pinpointing a precise beginning point. They strongly believe in the idea things are simply things. They don’t claim to be atheist but they believe God is an outdated concept. They believe morals are shaped by social conventions and social norms. The problem with Postmodernism is the lack of self-awareness and intolerance towards others. Therapeutic Moralistic Deism This worldview was first introduced by Christian Smith. They believe in God and that he exists but are not necessarily religious. God exists and created the world and watches over human life. Moralistic believe that God wants people to be good, nice and fair to each other. Postmodernism solution is having self-realization. The goal is to find your path, be sincere in your beliefs, and be tolerant of others. The solution is to look within for the answers to the outside world. The solution is simply to achieve success and happiness so that you die “Good”. Everyone that is good will go to heaven when they die. Postmodernism has many ideas about human destiny in order to treat all theories of afterlife equally. They believe in reincarnation and Karma. They believe the world repeats the same cycle. This worldview believes that if you are good then you will go to heaven. Christianity The Christian worldview knowledge can be found in history and in God’s word the Bible. The Christian worldview believes God created the universe out of nothing and that humans are created in Gods image. Christian world viewers find the solution through salvation and trusting in the Lord our Savior. The Christian worldview believes in either heaven or hell. There is no in between. You are either saved and go to heaven or lost and go to hell. They do not believe there is a problem if you are a good person and live a good life. Problems occur when there are obstacles that hinder you from achieving happiness, goodness and success. The Christian worldview tells us that the problem is sin. Your Own Convictions I believe in the Christian worldview. My belief is based on how I was raised and my understanding of God, Christ, and how to lead a Christ-like life. This knowledge comes from history and God’s word the bible. NAME: Shannan Holland I believe the Christian worldview and that God created everything as told through his word. I agree with the Christian worldview that man’s problem is sin and we have to fight to live Christ like and be obedient against our natural desires to sin. I agree with Christian world view beliefs because God gave his son to die on the cross for us so that we might have eternal life. Because he died on the cross for us our sins can be forgiven if we ask. I believe the Christian worldviews on heaven and hell. We are given the choice of where we end up after death based on the bible. We will be judged for our sins by our creator when we die. COURSE, SECTION, & SEMESTER: CHR 302 OA2 Spring Semester

Question One
Craig and Moreland (2013) define the Christian worldview as the platform on which
Christian individuals interrogate and develop their belief about the manner in which the Christian
faith relates to the rest of the world. The Christian religion has different groups, all who have
different ideologies on various aspects of how the view different aspects of the human life. While
the world view consists of many common beliefs among those who share the Christian faith,
there are those who differ regarding the interpretation of the Bible. It has the common belief that
