There are several factors to be considered during the assessment of the safety precautions
that are obligatory in the selection of a certain mode of transportation of goods and services to
diverse destinations. Diverse transport systems have different measures to ensure the safety and
security of the products on transit and the people using the mode of transport (Al-Rodhan, 2014)
Before selecting the security measures, it is important to factor out various aspects that
safety measure has including the past, present, and future. What problems the measures selected
has solved, and in what magnitude, the cost of the security measures, the nature of security at the
destination including the route used by the mode of transport is compared to its effectiveness. The
effects of the security arrangements on the economy and the society should also be included. In
global the nature of the products being transported is also an important aspect, some products are
considered to have added value than others. The travel speed of the mode of transportation also
impacts the security measure. Logistics industry, mainly water and air transport are used to serve
remote and continental destinations, but land transport (roads and rails) are preferred in
neighboring countries (Johnstone, 2015)
Distance and security are correlated. When choosing the most suitable security measure
the length of the route, it is important to factor out how far the security will accompany the product
being transported. Short destinations will require less complicated measure as it is easier to monitor
