In some cases of diabetes, there are no noticeable symptoms. However, when
symptoms do occur the individual may experience fatigue, increased thirst, and frequent
urination. Some individuals also experience weight loss and possible blurred vision.

2. What is pre-diabetes? About how many people are estimated to have undiagnosed
diabetes? (5 sentences)
Pre-diabetes is when one’s blood sugar level is high than normal but not as high to be
diagnosed with type- 2 diabetes. Pre-diabetes has no symptoms, but if left untreated can
cause kidney damage and heart diseases. According to the CDC (2014), about 1 million
people in the US have been undiagnosed with diabetes. This would indicate about
28.7% of Americans.
