I lied on an application. Will they still hire me?

Question Description

Today I had an interview with VisionWorks. They really liked me and said that I'd be a good fit for the company. The application had four slots to fill for employment history. I filled out three and left the fourth one blank. I got fired from Sears 2 years ago and even told them at the interview that I've never been terminated. It wasnt for theft or anything like that. It was really unfair what happened actually but they put poor performance as the reason. Well VisionWorks does a background and criminal check. I have no criminal record so I'm okay but will they see that I lied about Sears? I mean since then my employment history has been pretty good. I've been at my current job for about 2 years now.. If they do see it on there will they hire me anyways? My interviewer said she would go ahead and offer me a job but legally cant until the verification is back. Did I just blow my chances...? And I figured since there are alot of college students that work there I can't be the only person that done this.
