Dinner Party at a New York Socialite’s Home

Scene
The scene is played at a dinner party where Malcom X and Martin Luther King converse
at the table. Malcom X and Martin Luther King both defined the civil rights struggle of the
1960’s. Besides pursuing a common cause, they had significant differences in ideological
approach to human rights. Malcom believed in the motion of fighting “by any means necessary”
while Martin believed in peace talks. Malcom and Martin are very prominent men in the history
of African Americans. Malcom a Muslim was raised in a less fortunate environment. He was not
lucky enough to get adequate schooling Martin on the other hand was raised in a Christian family
and followed through with the Christian beliefs.
