RUNNING HEAD: The Causes of Global Warming The Causes of Global Warming Name of Student Professor Institution Date 1 2 The Causes of Global Warming Global Warming is the gradual increase in the temperatures on the surface of the earth, ranging from the land, water coverage to the atmosphere. The temperature increase has been quantified in the last 100 years to have increased by 0.75°C with 66% of this increase having been realized in the past 40 years. This recent increase in a higher rate shows how bad the situation seems to be getting year in year out (Bord, 2008). Incidences of temperature increase many years ago could have been attributed to natural forces such as the tectonic movements, flow of air and climatic conditions, however, this has not been the case in the recent past because a lot of the global warming has been due to human causes. The natural greenhouse effects don’t place the globe in any danger and instead keeps the earth temperatures safe for human existence. This had been the case for the longest time of human existence but after the industrial revolution, the effects of human activities on the environment started to be felt, increasing the greenhouse effect and as a result leading to the average temperatures of the earth to increase by close to 1°C and this was a big step to the negative side for the world to the effects of global warming that the globe faces today. Scientists have worked on proving that 85%-90%of the increase in global temperatures has been due to human activities (Delworth, 2000). Global warming has had many effects in the world and has been faulted for the acceleration in the melting of ice sheets, the permafrost and the glaciers and which have as a result lead to the raise of the waters in the sea, manipulating the precipitation and weather trends, causing desertification and occurrence of strong hurricanes among other complex problems. Human impact has been an intense issue now since humans don't provide the needed care to the earth anymore. The human characteristics and activities that cause the worldwide global warming are more than natural causes which cause dangerous effects on the environment. The whole globe has on been a constant change over the times but the current changes being 3 The Causes of Global Warming experienced have been due to human activities such as the emission of greenhouse gasses during industrial processing of finished products from raw materials for use by human beings. The combustion of fossil fuels, uncontrolled exploitation of natural minerals and treasures, agricultural activities as well as the general deforestation The issue of global warming can be said to have kick started at the dangerous levels during the industrial revolution period and therefore, the effects of manufacturing can be seen as the most contributing factor to the whole global warming fiasco. In the industry today, almost everything used by human beings can be said to originate, ranging from food to the home appliances and technological gadgets. The industrial revolution is said to have been the turnaround point to humanity in a period where the man could substitute manual work to a faster and more automated manner, little did he know that he was making the recipe for one of the worst issues to ever be encountered in the face of the earth. Coupled with the utilization of the non-renewable energy sources which have instead been supplemented by the use of fossil fuels, the green gasses emissions in the environment have led to increase in the carbon (IV) oxide in the atmosphere and hence resulted to global warming at its best (Bord, 2008). The need and niche of these products place human beings in a dilemma of what approach they should pursue in order to reduce the emissions because it is really hard for humans to survive without some basic products but whose production, on the other hand, is putting the position of the environment at a compromise state. Another issue which has compromised the environment and cause global warming is mining. Amid the way toward mining, the methane will be trapped beneath the earth. In addition, raising dairy cattle will likewise bring about methane since cows discharged the type of excrement. Be that as it may, cows are vital on the grounds that it make the methane similarly attributable to the event of global warming. 4 The Causes of Global Warming Next is the most well-known issue that is deforestation. Deforestation is a human impact since human have been chopping down trees to deliver papers, wood, construct houses or more. On the off chance that human proceeding with deforestation, carbon dioxide will pack in the environment since trees can assimilate carbon dioxide from climate. However, human likewise discharge carbon (IV) oxide when they breathe. Along these lines, the measures of a large number of individual’s breath have discharge carbon dioxide to the climate. In the event that human proceed with deforestation, respiration that discharges carbon (IV) oxide will remain at the environment and keep causing global warming. Aerosols have two products have two noteworthy consequences for the atmosphere. They incorporate both direct and indirect radiation “The cooling or warming of the air due to the intelligent or retentive properties of the particles is viewed as immediate impacts. Intelligent particles cool the climate by dissipating vitality from the sun once again into space. Retentive particles have the inverse impact. They add to climatic warming by engrossing the sun's vitality." A backhanded impact of pressurized canned products is their parts on cloud buildup cores, CCN. The utilization of pressurized canned products has an enormous association with the measure of CCN present in a cloud. Mists with more CCN, from the higher utilization of pressurized canned products, are bigger and more intelligent than those with less CCN. Since the mists are more intelligent, light is being caught in the world's environment (Nisbet, 2007). The entire global warming alteration happens when carbon (IV) oxide and other air toxins and greenhouse gasses gather in the environment and ingest daylight and sun oriented radiation that has skipped off the world's surface. Regularly, this radiation would escape into space—yet these contaminations, which can keep going for quite a long time to hundreds of years in the climate, 5 The Causes of Global Warming trap the warmth and make the planet get more blazing. That is what's known as the nursery impact (Trenberth, 2014). In America, the consuming of non-renewable energy sources to make power is the biggest wellspring of warmth catching pollution, delivering around two billion tons of carbon (IV) oxide each year. Coal-consuming force plants are by a wide margin the greatest polluters. The nation's second-biggest wellspring of carbon contamination is the transportation area, which produces around 1.6 billion tons of the gas each year in terms of outflows (Gore, 2006). As of late, China has led the pack in an Earth-wide temperature boost contamination, creating around 29 percent of all carbon (IV) oxide discharges. The United States comes in second. Regardless of making up only 5 percent of the total populace, the country creates an astounding 17 percent of all worldwide carbon (IV) oxide emanations—as much as the European Union and India (which are 3rd and 4th placed) joined. What's more, America is as yet number one, by a wide margin, in total discharges in the course of recent years. Our obligation matters to different nations, and it ought to matter to us, as well (Delworth, 2000). In 2015, the United States Ecological Protection Agency swore to lessen carbon contamination from our energy plants by about a third by 2030, in respect to 2005 levels, through its Clean Power Plan. The U.S. Bureau of Transportation has proposed carbon contamination and mileage principles that ought to slice emanations through from about 2020-2030. Chemicals that add to a worldwide temperature alteration, similar to hydrofluorocarbons are being eliminated of generation across the nation, as are vitality wasteful family things like glowing lights. Likewise in 2015, sun powered and wind control gave more than 6% of the United States' power 6 The Causes of Global Warming interestingly, and development began on the nation's first seaward wind control extend (Bord, 2008). All inclusive, at the United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Paris, 195 nations— including the United States—consented to contamination cutting arrangements with an objective of keeping the normal worldwide temperature from rising more than 1.5 degrees centigrade higher than the times before industrialization. (Researchers say we should remain beneath a twodegree increment to dodge cataclysmic atmosphere effects.) To help make the arrangement happen, the Obama organization promised to give $4 b to the Green Climate Fund, a universal association devoted to helping poor nations embrace cleaner vitality advancements. Under the terms of the Paris understanding, taking an interest countries will meet like clockwork, beginning in 2020, to overhaul their arrangements for cutting carbon (IV) oxide outflows. Starting in 2023, they will likewise need to freely give a report concerning their steps towards achieving that (Vitousek, 2010). The effects of Global warming are being felt in a high speed among the human species and other inhabitant in the globe. The human activities lead by the largest margin on the causes of these factors and although different measures have been taken by the international community towards achieving that, it is the obligation of the partakers in the whole world to move with haste towards salvaging the world from the possibilities of higher damage on the planet. Factors such as global deforestation, the planet’s vegetation cover, usage of fossil fuels have contributed towards the accumulation of greenhouse gases which further contribute to the realization of the whole global warming issue. 7 The Causes of Global Warming References Bord, R.
