Throughout its existence, Egypt has been a crucial point of contact between Africa as
a whole and the external world. Egypt a part of the larger North Africa or Maghreb was
especially pivotal to the opening up of Africa to the Europeans and Asians. Egypt has a rich
history that predates any other civilizations iconic monuments such as the pyramids of Giza
plateau tell the story of an advanced society with religion and scholarly centres that attracted
visitors from Europe. Much of what is known is known about ancient Egypt is revealed from
symbols written on many of the monuments.
Egypt suffered many invasions for instance starting in 669 BC the Assyrians of
Mesopotamia. Additionally, the Persians in 525BC also conquered Egypt. In 332 BC,
