Overview
There are different types mushrooms used for various purposes. I pick the magic mushrooms
which are frequently consumed after being dried out or raw and then stored. Dried mushrooms
are used to make tea. The purpose of drying is to reduce the burden of the respective magic
mushrooms. Magic mushrooms differ in how resilient and toxic they are. Occasionally, people
refer to the chemical composition of psilocybin-containing mushrooms as “magic” mushrooms
since the hallucinations and improved perceptions may give them the impression that they have
achieved some insight (Gartz 85). Some people treating mental disorders have recently become
interested in utilizing this drug in treatment.
Chemical Name
This chemical term given to the magic mushrooms is referred to as psilocybin, which is a
hallucinogenic element. At small doses, the hallucinogenic drugs made from magic mushrooms
hold their main effects as perceptual alterations and distortion of mind or the moods. According
to IUPAC, the complete systematic chemical name is known as [3-(2-dimethylaminoethyl)-1Hindol-4-yl] dihydrogen phosphate. The Psilocybin is a dihydrogen phosphate made of psilocin
(Starmets 114). Psilocybin is very much soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol and
methanol and also insoluble in almost every organic solvent. Psilocybin is mainly a prodrug of
the psilocin where the drug molecule is metabolized and converted to psilocin by the
