Endangerment of Bees
Bees have lived on this planet for many years with scientific studies and research
proving their existence to be about fifty million years ago. Bees have also being proven to
play a major role in our ecosystem, for instance, honey bees are responsible for pollinating a
vast number of vegetation including agricultural vegetation thus indirectly providing a food
source and supply to both human beings and other wild animals. This paper seeks to explain
the endangerment of bee species and explain why the survival of bees (honey bees) is of great
importance to us and the ecosystem.
Bees play a critical role to the ecosystem. As per the information provided by the
United States department of agriculture, bees have been proven to pollinate about eighty
percent of all our crops. In fact, the department noted that one colony of bees can pollinate
about three hundred million plant flowers in a day. This happens when they move from plant
to plant in search of nectar and thus transferring pollen from one plant flower to the other.
Bees also produce honey which is highly nutritious as it contains a lot of vitamins and
