Description
ABOUT PART 3: This paper is worth 20% of your overall grade in the course. In 4-6 (double-spaced, 12 point font) pages describe how you will deal with your Lot in Life. I do not penalize for going over the page limit. As part of your solution you should contact at least two local community agencies (not just Web sites) that can help provide information, training, or support for the problem. Include specifics on how to contact the agency, what services they have available, and how much these services cost. If you include WWW sources for your background research on this topic, review the guidelines about evaluating Web sources given earlier. The rubric in the syllabus gives additional information on how this assignment is graded.
Your paper should have a cover sheet that lists your name, the BEHS section number, the scenario you have chosen, and finally, whether or not the Lot in Life is true or not true for you.
The other two papers (Setting the Scene and Research) should be pasted in at the end of your solution paper.
SUGGESTION: Please contact the community agency early in the week, especially if you are using email. You will want to give the agency plenty of time to respond. Whether you are emailing, making a phone call, or participating in a live chat session I highly recommend that you have a written list of questions prepared ahead of time. This can help focus your communication and help ensure you get the information you need

1. Assessment
Children do not always deal with stress and depression in healthy ways. Therefore, David
is likely not to initiate a conversation about what is bothering him or what he is feeling.
However, this does not mean that he is not open to discuss what is bothering him. The first
step will be initiating a conversation with him to assess the underlying causes. During the
conversation, he will be listened to: calmly and attentively with care, openness and patience.
During the conversation, it will be important to avoid lecturing him or blaming him for the
issues he raises but the focus will be on ensuring that he knows that his feelings are being
listened to. The depression could be associated to something which could have happened at
home or school and therefore he will be given an opportunity to discuss how he feels about
school, home and his play time with his friends. The process of considering all these
underlying causes in line with the depression symptoms will help identify the main cause of
the depression (Clinic, 2017).
David’s depression could be due to a reaction to his environment or genes. Therefore, it
will be essential to establish a clear picture of the situation, recent major stressors from home,
school, or a violent act he might have witnessed recently. His TV watching habits will also be
established to identify whether it could be one the contributing factors. The genet...
