There is no single national or international governing body for information security. A large number of national security interests exist—private and government sectors, and academic and commercial interests, among others.
Directions:
Write a paper that includes the following:
- Identify a minimum of FOUR (4) security advisory bodies and detail the role they play in providing cyber security standards and guidelines. Select two of the governing bodies from the Middle East and/or Southeast Asia regions.
- Provide details on the responsibilities and interests of these national and international security organizations.
Deliverables:
- Your paper should be 2-3 pages in length, not including the title and reference pages.
- You must include a minimum of two (2) credible sources and information from the module to support your writing. The Saudi Digital Library is a good source for resources.

In the United States, Department of Homeland Security's Directorate for National
Protection and Programs has the National Cyber Security Division (NCSD) has the office of
communication and cyber security. It was formally opened on 6th June 2003 to collaborate with
the government, military, intelligence stakeholders, and private sector in mitigating threats and
conducting an assessment of any cyberinfrastructure operations. It also assesses the
vulnerabilities of IT assets and counter threats which affect the security of the public (Clarke, &
Knake, 2010). The primary objective of NCSD is to implement management programs and to
protect cyber infrastructures. Also, maintain and create a highly effective cyber response.
