The Success of the Fieldwork Investigation The conduct of a fieldwork investigation entails many things right from the materials needed up to the target population on the ground. Apart from the people giving responses to the questions we were asking, the geographical structure of the area, as well as the weather conditions, contributed to the results collected. However, the investigating group members split into groups of five people and went in separate ways to collect the data and perform interviews with the residents. Re exercise was planned well, but the expected responses were not given as we deemed the exercise to go smooth. The different groups were allocated with different forms of questions as well as the target group to investigate Issues that went well during the investigation Nearly every one of the people who was approached was friendly and welcoming. The region had people who developed the desire to know what the group was up to and the excitement made them give genuine and realistic information. In places where the environment was not conducive, the residents could suggest of better places to settle and collect data. The questions asked were open-ended, and most responses were short. In some regions, the streets had nice looking flowers and benches that we sat down as we wrote down the responses from our respondents. The scenes created a conducive environment where the information was delivered well as we could formulate extra questions for more information to aid in coming up with clear conclusions. The topic of selection that we researched was of interest to many residents as the problem had disturbed the majority of the people. The opinions given were accompanied by suggestions for solving the problem as they thought it was to be taken into action and solved within a short period. The interest shown by the population interviewed made the exercise a success due to the desire of airing their views with the aim of getting the problem solved quickly. Issues that did not go well during the investigation The separation of the groups in our investigation brought do much confusion as we could go round and meet the same people that have been interviewed by our group. The challenge of determining those who had already given information was difficult, as they could not disclose about the previous group that could have interviewed. The environment was not conducive to conduct the exercise. Some of the streets were so smelly and dirty.teh bad smell and insecure streets could not allow the group members to take much time speculating on the truth of the information delivered. In some occasions, the groups were forced t as questions as they were walking to avoid suspicion from the community people. Some of the activities were carried out during the night. In such times, the security of our team members was not safe as the region was new to the people and we around did not know about our being around. Hence, should an alarm have been raised by anyone in the society complaining of strangers in the village we could have been attacked and arrested? Some of the exercises in the future should be beefed up with security both during the day and at night. In the day, some of the streets are dreadful to walk across hence; it requires prior arrangements to get someone from the locality to take us along as we continue with the exercise. The many idlers we met along the way can do anything to see us frustrated and even hurt.
