Ancillary Services Project

  1. Create a table that list specific technologies (at least 2) for every ancillary service with cycle duration and ramp up time.
  2. Verify that a control area can have no more than 14.4 CPS2 violations per day.
  3. Using Fig. 5 from the Frequency Regulation Document given the 600MW plant with a $15/MWh production cost, what would be the regulation bid price if the market clearing price was $10/MWh.
  4. Write a program to emulate frequency control. The program should:

a)Accept a frequency input

b)Identify which frequency band

c)Identify situation between supply and demand

d)Identify appropriate response; If contingency request time span

e)Based on time, have program identify specific contingencies and technologies

f)Determine the flatband ACE using a bias 0f -50

g)Create a random generator to produce Nia and Nis (values between 150MW to 500MW) and determine the flat tie line control ACE

h)Determine the ACE using #6 and #7 together with no meter error

i)Calculate the CPS1 for using the ACE values from #6, #7, and #8 for the Eastern Interconnection
