1.(Respond back to this post between 125-140 words) Nonverbal communication is the interpersonal process of sending and receiving information, intentionally and unintentionally, without having to be written or spoken. Nonverbal cues play a key role in communication as they can improve the verbal message when used in sync with the spoken words, it can weaken the message if they do not match the spoken words or they can add a whole different meaning to the message. Some nonverbal signals include facial expression, gesture and posture, eye contact, vocal characteristics, personal appearance, touch and time and space. Signs and office decorations can send messages to employees and customers.

Nonverbal communication makes reminds me of the saying " your face can speak a thousand words",t something which I have been told too often. But you as you would communicate with words or a presentation, you have to stay aware of how you use the nonverbal signs as they could mean one thing to you and something else to the receiver.

2. (Respond back to this post between 125-130 words) According to this chapter, communication is the process of transferring written, oral and/or visual information and meaning between senders and receivers. Communication is the act of sharing, it's the attempt to produce benefits for both the communicator and those we communicate with whether it be by providing information, insight, or inspiration.

In general and through my own personal career experience, I have found one of the most important aspects of communication is listening. By listening to the concerns, suggestions, ideas and thoughts of others we are better able and better equipped to determine the wants and needs of those we come into contact with. By listening we are able to use other people's words, tones or actions to distinguish important aspects of the message they are trying to express and relay, and use the information and feedback provided to come up with best solution possible for that specific scenario. On the other side of this coin, we learn to express our own ideas, suggestions, concerns and information by listening to all the communication that happens around us. In my opinion, we are sometimes so consumed with getting our own message across that we forget that listening is an underrated yet vital tool to improving and mastering communication skills.

An effective team have clear and objects, a shared sense of purpose, strong trust in each other, communicate openly and honestly, reach decisions by consensus, respect each other's opinions and know how to resolve conflict.
