The Uniform Crime Reports (UCR) is an official database which offers a compilation of
crimes which are committed in the United States of America. The UCR is recorded and
published by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). It has a presence in the whole nation, cooperates the efforts of statistics of approximately 18000 cities, universities and colleges,
counties, states, tribes and the law enforcement agencies who volunteer the information on the
delinquencies reported to them (Truman, 2011). The statistics on the crimes have been compiled
in the database of UCR, and the publishing is done by the FBI in the series of United States. It is
important too, however, point out that the Bureau does not collect the data in itself but the data is
gathered by the law enforcement agencies and then compiled by the FBI and consequently
published.
The UCR was initiated as a program in the year 1930 and has since then provided vital
