timer Asked: Dec 29th, 2012

Question Description

I’m studying for my class and need an explanation.

In the reaction of borate ester CH3CH2BR-OR + OOH(-), why does it only the oxygen atom on the OOH(-) choose to attach to the B atom and the alkyl group R to generate a product of CH3CH2OBOR-OR + OH(-)?

Thanks a lot for your help!!!
