‘Stop and Frisk’ is the random search by the police officer of people. It includes
temporary detention, questioning and even sometimes publically searching a person for weapons
or illegal items. It is provided for in the law as reasonable research (Bagaric 15).
The issue of ‘stop and frisk’ has its origin in the case of Terry V. Ohio where the court
gave unlimited jurisdiction to police to search any person if they have reasonable suspicion that
person is a criminal or engages in criminal activities. There was an affirmation in this particular
case that it was not in disagreement with the Fourth Amendments which prohibits unreasonable
