Executive Orders
This refers to orders that are issued by the presidents of the United States. Such orders
are directed towards the agencies as well as the officers of the Federal government in the United
States. The executive orders may be express or implied in the sense that the congress delegates to
the president discretionary power. However, the orders must be backed by the constitution itself.
This means that they are subject to judicial review and may be overturned if they fail to meet the
constitutional requirements. However, it is important to note that major policy initiative will
require being approved by the legislature. The executive orders are aimed at influencing the
internal affairs of the government (Mason, & Stephenson, 2015).
Presidential Veto
The presidential veto refers to the power that a president has to deny or refuse to sign a
bill into law. This power is granted to the president by the constitution in Article 1, section 7. In
this case, the president will use this authority to stop passage of legislation by the congress. It is
important to note that an imminent threat of applying this tool may prevent legislation of a bill or
even warrant changes to the legislations (Mason, & Stephenson, 2015). .
There exist two types of vetoes that are regular and pocket veto. .A regular veto occurs
when the president refuses to sign the bill and returns it to the congress with a veto message.
However, the veto may be overridden by using a two-thirds majority in the two houses. On the
other hand, a pocket veto is absolute and cannot be overridden (Mason, & Stephenson, 2015).

process that is initiated by the legislative branch where charges are formally leveled against the
individual. Impeachment does not mean actual removal but it is just a step towards removal.
Article II of the constitution of the United States is used to guide the impeachment of a president.
The reasons for impeachment range from bribery, treason as well as other high crimes. The
House of Representative is granted the power to impeach while the Senate will try the
impeachments. In this case upon conviction by the United States senate, the removal of the
impeached official is imminent and cannot be reviewed by the judicially (Mason, & Stephenson,
2015).
Head of State
This is a term that is applied in constitutional law to refer to an individual who holds
the highest rank in a state. For this reason, such an official has vested powers to act as a
sovereign’s state’s chief public representative. The head of the state is usually regarded as the
persona who represents the legitimacy as well as the unity of...
