Decision making can be classified as both an art and a science
Decision making as an art
It entails the following, that decision making is a skill which is inherited and perfected by an
individual, once mastery of the art of decision making is the key to improving the performance in
that area. When one understand the most important components of a smooth and a clever decision,
one has the ability to inspect mistakes that might have been made in the past and avoid potential
errors from occurring in the future. The ability to know the underlying social psychological and
the economic components that influences decision making and irrespective of the fact that the
decision has been made by an individual, one can make better choices that yields results. (E. J.
