Lack of emotional intelligence is one of the major causes for breakdowns in relationships
(Ursiny & DeMoss, 2008). Emotional intelligence in relationships refers to the ability or skill of
people to manage, communicate and acknowledge their emotions and also recognize other
people’s emotions (Shaffer & Shaffer, 2005). Understanding the existence of different
